I try to fill everyday with challenges that make me think, but sometimes that is not enough and boredom takes over. In that regard, I am finding that doodles fit my current LOMO (Life On My Own) lifestyle very well. If I start feeling bored, all I have to do is to load up my doodle app and almost immediately the boredom disappears.
Doodling is my Boredom Buster
Starting with a blank page and just letting my subconscious fill it is an enjoyable event. What comes out is often surprising even to me. When I am done I look at what I have created and try to give it a name. The doodle #45 above is entitled “Everything Bagel”
maybe I should try this; I am of a similar age, on my own in a unit and I have never learnt how to draw; writing is my creative outlet but I would love to learn how to draw —

We appear to be much alike. Up until a couple of years ago I had never tried to bring back my childhood artsy creativity back to life. It has definitely been fun capturing a different mode of creativity. I have about 6,000 posts here at RJsCorner that have been written over the last 17 years. From an early age I have always been a wordsmith. Now I can claim, at least to some degree, another artsy success.
