Like most of us, I lost the incentive to do doodles early in life. I was told I had to color within the lines and doodling is just about the opposite of that. It was not until my retirement years that it finally came back with a passion. Two years ago I started out making doodles the old-fashioned way. I struggled through messy pens, paints, & pencils. That process didn’t encourage me much. But then I discovered digital doodles.
There are many apps available in the digital domain that will help me to create an infinite variety of doodles. I think I picked two of the best ones. I spent a year experimenting with many of them and have shown them to you as I progressed.
I will admit up front that I am still very much an outside amateur when it comes to doodling, and I am finding myself primarily in the abstract mode. If you care to follow me along this new creativity path, we will in a manner of speaking both be learning together.
Part of my personal traits is that when I become interested in something I often spend an inordinate amount of time working to be better at it. I will likely spend hours a day going forward learning to become a somewhat accomplished digital doodler. Doodling was prime time in 2025 but has taken a back burner since then.
